Sealed Source Production
Calibration and reference sources for medical instruments, radiation monitoring, and nuclear metrology.
The Challenge
Standardised Radiation Sources for Quality Assurance
Every radiation detector, medical physics instrument, and nuclear gauge requires calibrated radioactive sources for quality assurance. National metrology institutes, hospital physics departments, and industrial monitoring facilities depend on traceable reference standards — yet these sealed sources are often imported at high cost with long lead times.
Our Approach
Certified Sealed Sources from Neutron Activation
ASPL Fusion is designing sealed-source production via neutron activation of stable target materials. Each source is intended to be encapsulated to AERB Category-II safety standards, with full activity certification and traceability documentation, sitting within the broader AERB regulatory progression of the staged programme. The same neutron platform designed for medical-isotope and BNCT work is intended to provide the activation capability.
Why It Matters
Key Benefits
Traceable Standards
Every source is certified with full traceability documentation, meeting AERB and international standards for calibration and metrology applications.
Domestic Availability
Local production eliminates import delays and reduces costs for India’s growing network of nuclear medicine and radiation monitoring facilities.
Dual-Use Platform
Sealed source production leverages the same neutron platform as medical isotopes and BNCT — maximising facility utilisation and revenue.
